Acer announces Intel-powered Liquid C1 Android Smartphone

Acer and Intel announced a new Android handset, Acer Liquid C1. This Smartphone features the latest mobile Intel Atom Z2420 chipset.

The Acer Liquid C1 comes with 4.2-inch IPS screen with qHD (960×540) resolution. It has an 8MP auto focus rear camera at the back with LED flash that can capture images at 5 frames per second. It also features a 0.3MP front-facing camera. It is powered by Intel 1.2 GHz Atom Z2420m codenamed Lexington processor.

There is not much information regarding dual SIM/dual Standby functionality of this Smartphone. The disappoint fact about this Smartphone is that, it comes with Android 4 ICS, which is quite old then Android Jelly Bean. The Atom Z2420 chipset allows hardware accelerated 1080p HD encoding as well as decoding and allow the users to shoot a maximum of 5 frames per second in burst mode. Earlier reports indicate that Lava will soon be launching a budget Smartphone with the same Intel Atom Z2420 chipset, called the Xolo X500.

Design-wise, the Liquid C1 looks nothing out of the ordinary. The phone has rounded corners with faux-aluminum trimming and a patterned back that should lend good grip. The device is expected to be launched this month itself in Thailand following which the device is expected to make its way to other countries as well.
