Facebook launches free calling for iOS users

Facebook is rolling out an update to its Messenger apps which will enable the iOS users to call each other free of charge. In early January, Facebook announced voice messaging for their Androidand iOS Messenger app. Facebook has not included Android as of now but it’s expected to unleash the voice calling feature for Android and Windows phones soon.

To make a call to another Messenger for iPhone user, all you need to do is open a conversation with that person, tap the "i" button in the top-right corner, and tap Free Call.

You’ll be able to easily call anyone from your Facebook friends list using their iOS messenger app, absolutely free. It's also a huge step for Facebook, where a single feature emerges as one of the largest communities of VoIP users in the world.

As per the reports, it might take a second or two to stabilize but after that the quality is excellent and at least as good as Skype, Vonage and other offerings. Facebook has confirmed that the feature began rolling out to US users today, and requires no update through the App Store. This works on iPod’s, iPad’s and soon considering working for Android device.
