Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR - Bigger Than Its Size

Offering maximum features in a compact body seems to be the trend these days, especially if you look in the camera market, and if you haven’t felt that way then look at the Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR. The 16-megapixel camera has the same size of a compact dSLR and has been even designed in the very same manner. Be it the manual zoom control or the focus ring, everything about the camera is reminiscent of a compact dSLR camera. The best thing about the Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR is that it not only looks like a compact dSLR, but in terms of handling as well, it is just as a compact dSLR camera. However, in the size of a compact dSLR the HS30EXR packs a lot more features than any other camera in the market. Measuring 3.8 x 5.1 x 4.9 inches, the HS30EXR is comparatively bigger than the rivaling Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 and with weight of 1.5 pounds it also is significantly heavier than HS30EXR. The control layout for the camera is sensibly placed and hence the operation of the camera should not be a problem is you are familiar with Fuji’s control layout. The Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR gets ready to shoot in around 3 seconds, which easily can be attributed to the time it takes for engaging the power zoom lens. Once the camera gets started, it becomes easy capture images and the operation is rather fast. While we were pleased with the fast, operation of the camera we didn’t liked the quality of pictures shot from the camera. The images showed huge amount of Noise. Overall we think that the Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR with its 30x manual zoom lens, superbly laid physical controls, Tilting LCD, and top-quality EVF is a an impressive offering for the modern buyers. However, the noisy JPG images at high ISOs and sluggish startup time can be a problem for some buyers.
