Google reportedly preparing to launch Chromebook

Internet search giant Google is looking forward to step into the hardware business, to release its own Chromebook, reports said.

Google has provided some documentation as proof that Google is working on a 'lightbar scheme' Chromebook. Report claimed that HP's Chromebook, which was launched last week, did not have the features that were listed in the documents. So, the 'lightbar scheme' might be kept secured for the upcoming Chrome computers. This feature doesn't exist in current Chromebook, but it could be planned for future computers, such as the rumoured Chromebook 'Pixel' which is rumoured to be a laptop designed by Google engineers, the report said.

Until now, Google supplied its open source Chrome operating system to OEMs like Acer, Samsung, HP, etc. Rumours have it that the Internet search giant is planning to release a totally Google made 32.6-cm (12.85-inch) touch enabled Chromebook this year.
