HTC unveils Desire U with Android 4.0, 1GHz processor

HTC has announced a new 4-inch entry-level Android Smartphone, the Desire U.

Desire U sports a decent 4.0-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It has 9.32mm thick and weighing 119g. The device is powered by a single-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. 

The device also packs a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, along with MicroSD card slot for expandable memory up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G. The Smartphone comes with a 1,650mAh battery. The Desire U will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and there are slim chances it will get a Jelly Bean upgrade, reports said. 

HTC has been in the news lately for its M7 full-HD device that is expected to launch one week ahead of the next month. An interesting addition to HTC Desire U design is the micro-drilled cover art on the back panel. The Desire U has been announced in its home country but the launch details for other regions remain unknown at the moment. The device will come in black and white color options.
