Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 Will Start At $629
 

The much-awaited Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 will have starting price of US$629 (~ INR 32, 975.07).

 

The news was announced in a statement from the company. Entering the market on 26th October, 2012, the The much-awaited Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 will have starting price of US$629 (~ INR 32, 975.07).

Entering the market on 26th October, 2012, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will have 10.1-inch display screen and will run Microsoft's latest Windows 8 for tablets and PCs. The base prices of $629 include no accessories, so you will be paying this price for the tablet only.

 

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 weighs around 1.3 lbs (i.e. 589 grams) and measures 0.4-inches thick.  Despite flaunting a sleek body, the Tablet is expected to deliver estimated battery life of around 10 hours on a single charge. The accessories including a keyboard dock, which can also hold a tablet and works as a Bluetooth keyboard, will be sold separately.

 

With ThinkPad Tablet 2 Lenovo moves to Intel and Windows, which although has been dominating the PC market for a long time, but still have to settle their feet in the tablet market.  The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 comes runs an Intel Atom processor, which is code-named “Clover Trail” and Windows 8 Pro. The ‘Clover Trail’ processor has a clock speed of around 1.86GHz. The processor impressed us, when it first came in the ThinkPad Tablet, last year with Google's Android 3.1 OS code-named Honeycomb.

 

The official announcement for Lenovo’s ThinkPad was made back in August, but at that time, the pricing was not available. Some highlight features for the ThinkPad Tablet 2 includes rear and front cameras, an HDMI port and wireless video streaming. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 will also have a digitizer pen, which again will be sold separately.
