Motorola's Intel-Powered Android Smartphone “Edge” Coming On 18th September

Motorola will be launching their first Intel-powered Smartphone in September. The Google owned mobile manufacturer has already announced a big event on 5th September, where the company is said to launch their Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR M Smartphones. However, the Intel-Powered Android Smartphone will be launched in a separate event on 18th September, without being a party pooper for any of its rivals. The Intel-powered Smartphones from Motorola has been in news for quite some time now, however on most occasions it has just been a mere rumor. But, back in January, the company announced that the Intel-powered Smartphones will be coming soon, and here we are, few days away from the arrival of the first one. We haven’t got any confirmation on the naming of the device, but there are speculations that the Intel device might be called, Edge. It makes absolute sense to us, as Motorola loves the “four letter names” and if you look at the invitation sent from the company the “Edge” is written differently. However, the biggest clue that we got about the name of the device is the Twitter hashtag that Motorola selected: #motoedge. Now, if the name of the device is not Edge, then it just doesn’t make any sense. Also, it should be noted that Motorola loves shortening its name to Moto, while talking about its products, so it goes well with the four letter names of the devices. As far as the specifications of the Intel-powered Motorola Edge is concerned, the handset is expected to run Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, contrasting with the other Intel-powered handsets in the market. With the support of Google, we think that Intel and Motorola both will be able to make a mark among the leading mobile manufacturers. So, from the buyers’ perspective, there are more options coming their way.
