Now, Smartphones to Have Touchscreens That Respond To Fingernails & Knuckle Touch

Touchscreens not responding to fingernail & knuckles might soon be outdated. According to a report, an American computer scientist has developed a model smartphone, which can differentiate between touch from the fingertip, knuckle, and for that matter even fingernail.

The prototype smartphone has been fitted with the FingerSense software developed by the US scientist and a small vibration sensor. The smartphone listens to the vibration and acoustic disparity between all the three touch types of touch. The fingerprint can easily an object, while the knuckle tap feature will function pretty much like the right-click on the computer mouse and comfortably opens submenu.

If, and when this new touchscreen enters the production it will be interesting to use and elevate the functionality to further heights.
