RIM's BlackBerry 10 to Take Centre Stage at BlackBerry Jam Americas

RIM has not been in limelight for right reasons for quite some time now. With their last BlackBerry 7 series smartphones failing to make any splash in the modern smartphone market, the pressure is building on Research In Motion, and the company is trying desperately to prove its worth. In their latest attempt, RIM has decided to give another chance to their next-generation BlackBerry 10 OS. The company will be putting their BlackBerry 10 OS in spotlight at their annual developer conference, in San Jose, Calif.

For the trade analysts and RIM faithful, the event could be rather disappointing, as the company doesn’t have any plans to show new BlackBerry phones. The event known as BlackBerry Jam Americas was earlier known as BlackBerry Developer Conference. The key highlight for this year will be the BlackBerry 10 operating system, which although has failed to impress the BB fanatics, but RIM still has faith in it. The company will be giving more details about the Operating System, in an attempt to regain the BlackBerry loyalists and to recommit the new developers to BlackBerry over Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. Along with selling the new OS to the developers on the grounds of working on new ecosystem, RIM will also remind them that there’s tons of money that can be made.

The pressure on RIM has never been greater than this, and the company needs to show that they still have, what it takes to make handsets that can stand out in crowd. With the historic openings of Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S3, the road to glory doesn’t seems easy for RIM, and to make it even worst, there are Windows Phone 8 offerings from HTC and Nokia. RIM really needs to come up with a revolutionary device, in order to survive this gung ho smartphone market.
