Sony announces playstation app for iOS and Android

Sony announced the new PlayStation 4 along with the DUALSHOCK 4 game controller. Along with that, the company also announced to release a new PlayStation App for the Apple iOS and Google Android platform.

This PlayStation App will turn the device into a second screen and interact with the game console from anywhere. Sony has not announced the release date for the app but the game console is expected to be available by the year end. The new PlayStation 4 game console will be controllable using the new PlayStation app installed on iOS or Android device. The smartphones and tablets will essentially turn into second screens for accessing the PlayStation 4 user interface.

Gamers will be able to seamlessly pull PS4 titles from their living room TVs and play them on PS Vita's beautiful 5-inch display and intuitive dual analog sticks over Wi-Fi networks.

The PlayStation 4 owners will be able to purchase and initiate the download of the games right from the PlayStation App. This App will enable iPhone, iPad, and Android based smartphones and tablets to become second screens. Once installed on these devices, users can, for example, see maps on their second screens when playing an adventure game, purchase PS4 games while away from home and download it directly to the console at home, or remotely watch other gamers playing on their devices.
