Sony rumoured to launch a 6.44-inch Phablet

According to reports, an image has leaked recently indicating that Sony is working on a Phablet device with a 6.44-inch display.

By looking at the size of the screen, it can be assumed that the screen will be full HD 1080p. The picture also indicates that the phone will feature a very skinny bezel. No other information is known of the device but we can expect it to be a part of the Xperia line-up of devices.

Sony had already entered the category with its 5-inch full-HD Xperia Z. It comes with a 1080p resolution, 13 megapixel camera with HDR recording and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and is LTE-capable. It also comes with 4G LTE, EDGE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.

Going by earlier reports, Samsung started with the success of its Galaxy Note and the company went ahead and launched the Galaxy Note II that came with a bigger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display.
The company is now gearing up for a third generation Galaxy Note III, which is rumoured to sport a 6.3-inch screen and will perhaps come with recently announced Exynos 5 Octa processor as well. Samsung also recently launched the 5-inch Galaxy Grand earlier this week. Sony seems to be working on a much larger Phablet this time round. However, the specific model number and name of this new Sony Phablet is not clear yet.
