Transparent 3D computer unveiled

A transparent computer has been unveiled that allows users to reach inside and touch digital content. It’s reported that development is in process on the SpaceTop 3D desktop in collaboration with Microsoft.

It allows users to literally reach into their computer and manipulate or move files and data with their hands. The system consists of a transparent LED display with built-in cameras, which track the user’s gestures and eye movements. The design was inspired by what he sees as a human need to interact with things.

"Spatial memory, where the body intuitively remembers where things are, is a very human skill," said reports.

"If you are working on a document you can pick it up and flip through it like a book".

The SpaceTop 3D is currently just a prototype and no consumer devises are currently planned. But it does provide a glimpse at what desktop computing could be like in the future.
