With Bendable Battery on its Way, the Countdown for Flexible Phones Starts.



Scientist has paved way for more technology like devising flexible mobile phones by developing the world’s first bendable lithium – ion batteries. Scientists have developed an imprintable, fluid like polymer electrolytes that are used for lithium ion batteries
The conventional batteries are made up of liquefied electrolytes which are put into square shaped cases that make them inflexible with high risks of explosion. Due to these disadvantages efforts have been made to develop high-molecule electrolytes.As per reports not only does the use of fluid- like electrolytes make the battery bendable but also more stable and that there is no need to manufacture square-shaped battery when using the fluid electrolytes.



The new rechargeable battery is created by spreading the fluid-like electrolytes on electrodes and exposing them to ultraviolet rays for as less as 30 seconds. One of the many more advantages of the imprintable electrolytes is that they have greater efficiency. Since the electrolytes are imprintable they can have various patterns printed on them, helping chemical reactions that raise the output of the batteries.


The Conventional lithium ion batteries that use liquefied electrolytes have some safety concerns because the film that separates the electrolytes may melt under heat, due to which the positive and negative elements may come into contact , causing an explosion. as per one of the Scientist inputs



"Because the new battery uses flexible but solid materials, and not liquids, it can be expected to show a much higher level of stability than conventional rechargeable batteries," the official said.
